The Pritchard Memorial Baptist Child Development Center provides Christian love and care for the preschool child in our church and the community. Within a play environment, children learn about God, Jesus, the Bible, Family, Self, Others and the Natural World. They will be encouraged to participate in art, music, science, play and problem solving.

Our Goals are...

1. To enable children to feel adequate in their environment.

2. To aid children in learning to understand and live intelligently in God's world.

3. To teach children to manage themselves, their materials and the daily routine.

4. To facilitate steady growth through providing adequate space, freedom of movement and needed equipment.

5. To protect children from hazards to health and safety.

6. To help children find comfortable, contributing places in the group.

7. To encourage children to take initiative in planning and doing things.

8. To allow children to achieve all the proceeding and to hear about God's love in an environment of Christian love and concern.

Enrollment...

Children are accepted from six weeks of age until they are kindergarten. For current enrollment and fee information, contact the CDC Director. The Center accepts children regardless of race, color, sex or national origin. Admission of children with special needs will be dealt with on an individual basis at the discretion of the director and staff. The Center's ability to meet the needs of the child will be assessed.

Staff...

Teachers are trained by child development experts in understanding the needs and abilities of each child. They are instructed in health and emergency care, sanitation and appropriate facilitating methods. The staff is continually involved in training opportunities according to state requirements.

Nutrition...

For all children able to eat table food, a morning snack, a hot lunch and an afternoon snack are served. Infants on bottles and/or baby food bring their own food from home. Our Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Location...
We are located on South boulevard, very close to the Uptown area. This makes us convenient for those working in this area.

Licensing...
Our Center has a "AA" license from he state of North Carolina. This is the license issued to daycares who meet the higher voluntary standards in North Carolina.

The Center will be closed in observance of the following holidays:
New Year's Day
Easter Friday
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Full tuition will be charged during these weeks.
